Brief
Blick was approached to design and develop a custom website for ANCA Motion. The design needed to reflect ANCA Motion’s existing brand and their position in the market as an agile and innovative technology provider. They requested a new, modern design with an emphasis on what they do, more than what they sell. The challenge was to portray their solutions without portraying the machines themselves (they design what goes inside the machines). Part of the solution was to create a custom digital illustration to show the inside system of CNC machines which animates on hover.

Approach
The design is based on the creative process that ANCA Motion go through in creating their custom solutions for their customers. From sketches and drawings to the final product, we took inspiration from their own design process to create their website.
We chose to use Craft CMS for this project because of its flexibility in accommodating unusual design layouts and its ability to handle anything our developers threw at it. It’s also very easy to use for the client!

Some other site features include an animated hero image that shows the inside of the machine on hover. The site also needed to perform very well despite it’s heavy content load.

Result
The site was a success with the client and their customers. The hero illustration has been re purposed as the beginning of a fresh new brand identity for them.
The site was also featured in Desktop Magazine’s blog.
