Program materials that compliment each other and cater to multiple audiences

WaterAid Australia helps some of the world’s poorest people gain access to safe water, hygiene and sanitation. The inclusive WASH program provides partners and practitioners with the teachings required for implementation of various WASH projects.

Brief

Blick was engaged by WaterAid Australia to create designs for the Inclusive WASH program materials, including a report, CD and website. The design needed to incorporate subtle WaterAid branding, but ensure it wasn’t dominant due to the involvement of additional program partners.

Approach

Blick’s design work brings a friendly and approachable look and feel to the program materials.

The report boasts inspiring field imagery paired with bright colour coding and other way-finding mechanisms, allowing WASH practitioners to quickly navigate through the project summaries, irrespective of whether they speak English as a first language. The accompanying CD resource provides full reports of each project in PDF format.

The website functions as a comprehensive online portal of information, providing practitioners with further access to a range of tools, webinars, forums, studies, references and other source materials.

The WaterAid branding is subtle, preserving the program’s neutral tone and allowing partners to feel appropriately referenced and included.

The colour coding has been maximised to create an array of directional features, accommodating those who do not speak English as their first language and catering to practitioners that quickly need to look up a specific topic or area of specialty.

The materials work well in unison, effectively supporting implementation of the Inclusive WASH Program.
