VicTESOL: Building a More Accessible and Future-Ready Digital Platform
22 May 2026
VicTESOL approached Blick Creative because their existing website had simply outgrown what it was originally designed to do. Over time, additional features, memberships, resources and events had created a platform that was becoming increasingly difficult for both users and administrators to navigate and maintain. The organisation needed something more modern, easier to use and better positioned for future growth.
As Victoria’s professional association for teachers of English as an Additional Language (EAL), VicTESOL supports a broad audience including teachers, academics, school leaders, researchers, government organisations and international visitors. Creating a website that could support these diverse audiences while remaining intuitive and accessible was a key challenge.
Working closely with the VicTESOL team, we created a custom WordPress website focused on accessibility, usability and long-term flexibility.
The new website focused on:
• Creating clearer pathways to memberships, events, resources and professional learningopportunities
• Improving accessibility and usability across devices while supporting WCAG AA standards
• Creating searchable and filterable resource libraries with member-only content areas
• Improving membership sign-up, event registration and member experiences
• Building a flexible platform designed for future growth, including online learning opportunities and additional digital services
One of the biggest priorities throughout the project was balancing simplicity with functionality. The result is a cleaner, more accessible and future-ready digital platform that better reflects VicTESOL’s leadership within EAL education while providing a stronger foundation for member engagement and growth.
