Deafblind Awareness Week

24 June 2024

Deafblind Awareness Week (DBAW) is here, observed during the last week of June. Deafblindness refers to a combination of visual and auditory impairments and is more common than many realise, with over 15 million people affected worldwide. This week aims to raise awareness and promote a more deafblind-friendly world.

Organisations like Deafblind Australia  and Expression Australia are  promoting the week in their socials and DBA are also  providing insights into the lives of deafblind individuals . Working with the deafblind community has been rewarding, contributing to accessible projects and awareness campaigns.
