From Dunedoo to Paris on ABC TV – Jamieson Leeson
26 August 2024
Blick’s client, Sport Access Foundation, has recently shared exciting news in their latest enewsletter that Blick had put together. The newsletter highlights five Honour Roll Members joining the team for Paris, the 2024 Sport Access Foundation Grants, Paralympic swimmer and inaugural Honour Roll Member Col Pearse featuring in a Woolworths campaign. A standout feature is the story of Jamieson Leeson, who overcame significant barriers growing up in Dunedoo, 300km west of Sydney, to become a high-performance Boccia athlete. Jamieson’s journey, featured on ABC TV, showcases her determination and resilience. Now a seasoned athlete with one Paralympics and a world championship under her belt, she is a leading para-athlete for the Paris 2024 Paralympics. She will compete as the reigning World Champion. At 16, Jamieson was awarded $2,000 by Sport Access Foundation, which helped cover travel costs from Dunedoo to train at the NSW Institute of Sport in Sydney. Her early declaration to represent Australia has become a reality, underscoring the Foundation’s impact on her journey.
