From co-design to launch: reimagining the future of community childcare
Brief and Co-Design
Formerly known as CCC – Community Child Care, It Takes a Village (ITAV) partnered with Blick Creative to undertake a complete rebrand and digital transformation beginning in 2023 The process started with a co-design workshop, where we worked with key stakeholders to explore the reasons behind the change and the aspirations for a new brand that felt modern, inclusive, and true to their community values.
Through this process, Blick provided a reverse brief that outlined their desire for a refreshed identity — one that retained their long-standing advocacy for early childhood education and OSHC while positioning them as a forward-thinking organisation supporting children, educators, and communities across Australia.

Approach
Naming: After exploring multiple directions, the name It Takes a Village was chosen to capture the organisation’s core belief — that raising and supporting children is a shared community effort.
Logo: The new logo gives a subtle nod to the original CCC identity, carrying forward the organisation’s focus on connection, community, and support, while reflecting its commitment to advocacy and leadership within the sector.
Branding: Blick Creative developed two brand concepts, each showcasing a complete visual identity system across stationery, flyers, PowerPoint presentations, and social media tiles. Once the preferred direction was selected, we created a comprehensive brand and style guide, complete with accessible templates, visual elements, and a suite of ready-to-use communication materials for day-to-day implementation. The refreshed branding conveys warmth, inclusivity, and professionalism, reflecting the vital role ITAV plays in advocacy, leadership, and early childhood sector support.

Website and CRM: The newly launched itav.org.au brings the refreshed brand to life online — uniting accessibility, functionality, and visual impact.
Built in WordPress, the site was developed over several stages and integrates:
- Groundhogg CRM, for streamlined communication, contact management, and automation.
- MemberPress, enabling ITAV to manage member registrations, renewals, and exclusive resources.
- Event Tickets Plus, to handle professional development workshops and training bookings directly through the site.
- Smash Balloon social feed, displaying live updates and sector news.
The result is an AA-accessible, user-friendly website that empowers staff and members with easy navigation, clear pathways to programs and advocacy initiatives, and simplified admin workflows. The system is designed for flexibility – allowing ITAV to evolve and expand its digital capacity over time.
