Mark Presents at National Conference on Intellectual Disability Health: Co-Design at the Heart of “My Lived ID”
14 July 2025
Mark Schiffer, Director of Blick Creative, proudly presented alongside Michelle Templeton and Kellie Hammerstein from the Centre for Developmental Disability Health and Zoe Broadway from VALID at the National Centre of Excellence in Intellectual Disability Health Conference 2025, showcasing the co-design journey behind the My Lived ID website.
Created to support people with intellectual disability in finding accessible mental health information, My Lived ID was shaped through a deep and continuous co-design process — from the project’s inception, through development, and beyond its launch.
Three co-design workshops brought together people with intellectual disability, parents, carers, and national disability peak bodies to ensure the site was both accessible and truly practical. Through this process, Blick Creative developed a new “choose your own adventure” style directory – a response to lived experience input that made navigating services easier and more personalised.
Co-designer Luke shared how his voice influenced the project, and how the website is already supporting others in finding the help they need.
Mark and the team emphasised that co-design doesn’t stop at launch. Ongoing feedback continues to drive improvements, reinforcing the value of inclusive, user-led design.
