Blick Facilitates Inclusive Co-Design Session to Kickstart Rainbow Pride’s Rebrand
Blick Creative recently facilitated the first of many co-design workshops to support the rebranding of Rainbow Pride — a peer-led advocacy group for LGBTQIA+ people with intellectual disability and/or acquired brain injury.
Held at Ross House in Naarm/Melbourne, the in-person session was co-led by Blick’s Natalie and Mark, with a focus on exploring a new name and brand identity. The day opened with a warm welcome, group introductions and a respectful Acknowledgement of Country, setting the tone for a safe and inclusive space.
Natalie guided most of the session, sparking open discussions and running creative, hands-on activities to ensure everyone’s voice was heard. Participants shared stories, voted on name ideas, selected meaningful design elements, and built a symbolic “Rainbow Pride person” using visual stickers to express identity and pride.
Despite long travel and train disruptions for many, members showed up with incredible energy and pride, demonstrating how meaningful this project is to the community. The co-design process was not only inclusive but celebratory—grounded in fun, connection and self-expression.
This session set the tone for a rebrand that truly reflects the heart of Rainbow Pride (New name to be anounced soon) vibrant, united, and led by lived experience.
