Blick has been lucky enough to work with the Williamstown Community and Education Centre (WCEC) for a number of years now, as Mark (Blick’s Director) is a local to the beautiful bayside.

For Blick’s Monthly Muse of April we’ve decided to feature one of Mark’s (Blick’s Director) long time friends, Charlotte Swiden.

AGDA After Hours is one of Blick’s favourite events to attend each month, so we’re excited for the first one of 2020 to take place last week.

The National Sustainable Living Festival is the largest sustainability festival in Australia. Running from 1st–29th of February this year, the events and exhibits are held in Melbourne and all across Victoria to promote sustainable living practices and seek solutions to global warming.

It seems so long ago, but it was so much fun and we wanted to share it with you! For Blick’s 2019 Christmas party we did a Japanese ink painting workshop at Kami Paper with the wonderful Junko Azukawa. She’s incredibly talented at Sumi Painting and Japanese Calligraphy, making it look a lot easier than it actually is!

Earlier this year Monash University asked us to create a range of illustrated storyboards for their upcoming ‘Give Respect’ campaign, which they’ve recently launched. The project aims to educate, inform and promote respectful behaviour and relationships between students. 

If you keep up with Blick’s social media updates I’m sure you couldn’t have missed the photos of the ‘Fully Blick’ team getting down and dirty at Tough Mudder a few weekends ago!

Direct Paper Supplies are a client Blick is always excited to work with. They recently came to us for the design of a postcard that promotes their Nautilus stock.

Proxima HB is a bright white paper stock specifically created for high-quality printing and packaging design. Direct Paper Supplies approached Blick to have us create two flyers showcasing the commercial benefits of Proxima HB. By emphasising how well the stock can retain strong, saturated colours. The result is a design that is clean, bold and lively. A high gloss varnish has also been used to enhance the bright and vibrant colours of this magnificent Rainbow Lorikeet.

Held on Saturday 10th August in the picturesque Nulla Vale region, it’s a great day out. Apart from all of the benefits that tree planting gives to the environment, it’s also an opportunity to reconnect with Mother Earth and our clients, suppliers and supporters, and increase the significance of our collective environmental contribution.

Working with Sultan Turkish Delight to create their turkish delight packaging was a treat. Blick created designs that aimed to deliver the sensational flavours of the turkish delights visually to it’s consumers, using crisp large images of the main ingredients for each flavour to do so. We modernised the packaging by using sans-serif fonts, bold colours and strong visuals whilst still remaining true to the traditional brand that was established in 1994. The outcome is sophisticated and delicious!

Blick is excited to be designing a website for one of our clients, Linktech. As apart of this project we were required to do a full-day photo shoot to capture some fresh imagery demonstrating their growth, services and skills.

Tereza and Mark are passionate about design, and both started 2019 wanting to be more engaged in the industry, share their skills and knowledge, and also meet others as passionate as themselves. What better way to do this, than by joining the Australian Graphic Design Association.

Centre for Eye Research Australia is conducting ground-breaking research in the field of eyesight and we wanted to reflect this in the design of their latest Annual Report.

Our Director Mark attended the Inner Metro Business Forum to participate in discussions about the challenges businesses are facing, and the benefits of running a business within the centre and inner metropolitan areas of Melbourne. The aim was to provide constructive feedback on what improvements can be made to assist businesses to grow and prosper now and into the future by councils and the state government.

The AGDA Awards recognise a broad range of work within the graphic design profession across Australia. It promotes the industry, creates discussion and inspiration, and recognises the achievements of great designers.

Mark, Blick’s director will be holding a workshop as part of The City of Whitehorse — Boost Your Business 2018 program. The workshop will take place on Friday 23rd March 2018 at the Whitehorse City Council Civic Centre.

After long hours of hard work to finish up the year, the Blick team indulged in a French cooking class at Dish Du Jour with French chef Sebastien Piel.

Tereza (Account Manager) and Chelsea (Account Executive) attended the annual Business Chicks meeting at Servcorp co-working space. Somewhat similar to a speed dating meet up, 60 professional women gathered together whilst being surrounded by a 360 degree view of Melbourne.

On 9 November, Blick’s Senior Account Manager Tereza headed into The Ian Potter Centre at NGV Australia Federation Square to attend an event presented by AGDA, the peak national organisation representing the Australian communication design industry.
