Now in its 30th year, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival has entertained millions of people with thousands of performers bringing their comedic genius to the stage.

Many of us at Blick have attended shows at this year’s comedy festival, currently running in various venues around the city. Check out our reviews and take note of the acts we loved... many of the performers will be back again next year!

This show was an amazing taster of what the comedy festival has to offer! My personal favourites were the very ‘punny’ Tim Vine and Melbourne locals Aunty Donna with their ‘invisible hipster cafe’ skit. Great night of non-stop laughs!

I’d heard good things and had seen a short snippet from Nazeem's show on the Opening Gala broadcast, but overall was a little disappointed. It felt like he was getting warmed up most of the show… It was a good build up of anticipation of what was to come, but that somehow never quite came.

These guys were surprisingly good. They barely spoke, instead opting for funny sounds and clowning… think beatboxing and whacky dance moves.

What do you get if you cross toilet humour, mental illness and raw honesty? Felicity Ward’s amazing show! Seriously, you’ll cr*p yourself laughing.

Despite having seen Will Anderson several times, his shows are always fresh, funny and make a point (or several). ‘Fire at Wil’ again delivers big belly laughs but behind the wit are poignant reflections on the Australian way of life and psyche.

For this show, the audience nominates 10 skit ‘titles’ and the Impro crew have to act out a scene based on the title. The audience can then vote as to whether they passed or failed the title test. A great mix of skit humour, singing and even miming – amazing talent!
